Blackpool Football Club Community Trust are delivering a BTEC Level 3 Futsal Education Scholarship program and have just a handful of spaces available.
Learners aged 16 – 18 years complete a number of sports related units; including anatomy and physiology; sports nutrition and; training and fitness; working towards completing a BTEC level 3 extended diploma in sport. This runs alongside fitness and training sessions and the honour of representing Blackpool FC playing Futsal in the National Futsal League, organised by the Football League Trust and @Futsal, with more than 50 other professional football clubs delivering the same scheme.
Blackpool FC Community Trust’s Futsal Education Scholarship program is delivered at Bloomfield Road, which allows the students to feel fully integrated in the club environment while receiving a high level of teaching. The teaching delivered on the program has been subject to three inspections this year and has been awarded a grade 1 – outstanding every time. 100% of our learners are working above target level (Merit, Merit, Merit) and 94% are working above their personal target grade, the best results of any club delivering the programme.
The course will begin for the next academic year in September 2014. So far we have seen the level of applicants double compared to 2013/14. There are limited spaces available so if you are interested in studying at Blackpool Football Club there are open evenings taking place at Bloomfield road on 2nd July, 6th and 27th August all at 6pm, call 01253 348691 to register your interest.
