Futsal Education Scholarship – Last chance to apply!

Blackpool Football Club Community Trust are reaching the end of the first year delivering their Futsal Education Scholarship program, 17 learners aged 16 – 18 years have successfully completed a number of sports related units including anatomy and physiology, sports nutrition and training and fitness.  The learners are working towards completing a BTEC level 3 extended diploma in sport.  There are 52 teams across the premier and football league currently delivering the same course, out of all of these clubs Blackpool Football Club are currently top of the league, ranked number one in the country for their educational results.

All students are set high aspirational target grades which are designed to challenge the learners to achieve their maximum potential, at present all students are passing the course with 88% of the learners achieving MMM (Merit, Merit, Merit) or above.  Much of the students’ success has been attributed to hard work, but it is also down to the teaching and learning environment that has been created by the Community Trust.  The Futsal education scholarship program is delivered in the Seasiders Bar at Bloomfield Road, which allows the students to feel fully integrated in the club environment while receiving a high level of teaching.  The teaching delivered on the program has been subject to three inspections this year and has been awarded a grade 1 – outstanding every time.
